Academic, Fall, Winter, or Year Long

A Resident may request to terminate their Agreement by completing a vacating notice through the forms tab in their a minimum of fourteen (14) days in advance of their desired termination date. Residence Services will only approve the request to vacate prior to the end of the lease, for the following reasons with supporting documents:

• received co-op/practicum outside of Calgary;
• received a study abroad placement;
• voluntary or required withdrawal of registration from the University of Calgary;
• completion of research/program, or complete graduate program.

If approved a $500 contract breaking fee will be charged and residence fees will be pro-rated up to the last day of class for the current term.

If your request doesn't fall under one of these reasons, your vacating request will be denied and you will be required to fulfil your full contract.

Spring/Summer, Spring or Summer

A Resident may terminate their Agreement by completing a vacating notice through the forms tab of their , a minimum of fourteen (14) days in advance of their desired termination date.

When vacating residence the tenant’s residence fees will be charged to the requested move-out date or fourteen (14) days after the vacating request was submitted, whichever is later. There will be a $250 contract breaking fee. 

Vacating notices will not be accepted for move-outs:

• that are requested to be within fourteen (14) days of the end of the agreement.
• that are prior to 28 days after moving-in or May 3 (if staying through). Residents must stay for a minimum of 28 nights.
