In this episode of Now Innovating, a research-to-impact series at the University of Calgary, we chat with Dr. Viola Birss, PhD, a professor emerita in the Faculty of Science’s Department of Chemistry and co-founder of . She is joined by collaborators, Chengying (Arlene) Ai, MSc'19, and Dr. Anand Singh, PhD, whose research with Birss has led to the creation of two startup companies, and BlissEarth Energy Research. They discuss how their research in electrochemistry and nanomaterials has led to applications that support clean energy transition, including the conversion of CO2 to clean fuels and chemicals, and green hydrogen and natural gas utilization.
