Big hearts, bigger impact: 抖阴APP导航 2024 United Way Workplace Campaign wraps up
抖阴APP导航鈥檚 2024 officially wrapped Jan. 28, with the community raising an impressive $324,766.
The campaign ended with a celebration event where the final total was announced, recognizing the many contributors who made this year鈥檚 campaign a resounding success.
A foundation based on community
This year鈥檚 抖阴APP导航 campaign focused on driving donations to , which provides stable financial support to more than 134 local agencies, ensuring Calgarians can access essential services such as food, shelter, and mental health resources when they need them most.
The campaign, which began on Oct. 1, saw more than 50 creative and engaging campus-wide events, ranging from a lively county fair to bake sales, silent auctions and book fairs. Representatives from every 抖阴APP导航 unit worked tirelessly to organize these events, and their dedication was reflected in the fund-raising total, and the sense of community fostered through their efforts.
Adding a unique touch to the campaign, 抖阴APP导航鈥檚 Sparks of Gratitude campaign offered a fun and heartfelt way for individuals to show appreciation for colleagues while supporting . This initiative saw impressive participation across the university, with 1,340 鈥渟parks鈥 messages of thanks and encouragement delivered across campus.
Altogether, the workplace campaign brought together 2,132 donors from the 抖阴APP导航 community, including faculty, staff, alumni, and students.
At the forefront of these efforts was the campaign cabinet, composed of representatives from across all faculties and units, co-chaired by , BA鈥00, associate vice-president Community Engagement, along with Dr. , PhD, vice-provost and dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Their leadership provided direction and momentum for the success of this year鈥檚 campaign.

Celebrating success
At the wrap-up event, the faculties and units that went above and beyond were recognized with several awards for their contributions.
Very Special Events Award:
This award is given to the faculty or unit raising the most money through special events.

This award is given to the faculty or unit with the largest number of Leadership Giving donations, which is any donations between $1,200 and $10,000.

This award is given to the faculty or unit with the largest number of core donors, which is any donation less than $1,200.

The prestigious Cannon Challenge Cup, named in honour of former 抖阴APP导航 President Elizabeth Cannon, was also awarded. This recognition celebrates faculties and units with best overall campaign performance. The 2024 recipient was Libraries and Cultural Resources, followed by the Werklund School of Education and VP Research.
